I had the pleasure of being invited as a guest speaker at Yeovil College last Thursday (15th May 2025), and I couldn't have felt more welcomed.
The session was with a wonderful group of Year 1 and Year 2 Level 4 Counselling students. It was a real privilege to spend time with such an inspiring cohort.
During our time together, I had the opportunity to share a bit about my own journey into the counselling profession, how I found my path, the challenges I faced, and the insights I’ve gained along the way. I also offered some practical advice and personal reflections on setting up and running a private practice, which I know is something many of them are considering for the future.
What stood out most was the level of engagement from the students. They were attentive, thoughtful, and asked lots of great questions. It’s clear they are not only studying counselling as a subject but are fully embracing the depth and responsibility of the role.
To all the Year 1 Level 4 students at Yeovil College: I see your dedication, your passion, and your willingness to learn and grow. Keep going, you’re doing great, and the world needs counsellors like you.
Thank you again to Yeovil College (Alex) for inviting me.
Take care!
